Onsite Vender for complete brake lines?

Is there a vender on the site that sells complete bent brake lines for a '85 2wd? Looked around and don't see one for the complete set.

Thanks

I'd like to find the hard lines that stretch across the rear axle...can only find them in the form of bulk tubing. Bleh!

I agree.

The lines that run across the rear axle (and some other locations) were originally covered with a spiral wire wrap to protect them from stones & other debris. If you want to duplicate that on your replacements, that type of line is available from most auto parts stores. For example, NAPA #8131188 through #8131193 are straight pre-flared lengths of 3/16" armor wrapped brake line ranging in length from 12" to 60". Equivalent CarQuest numbers are 3308 (8" long) through 3360 (60" long). It's available in 1/4" too.

If rust & corrosion resistance is a concern, look into using Ni-Copp or Cunifer brake line. It's a copper/nickel/iron alloy that's DOT approved for brake lines and is real easy to bend & double flare. It's a bit pricier than regular steel brake line but will last a lot longer on vehicles that are exposed to road salt.

Re: Onsite Vender for complete brake lines?

I used the bulk stuff and had the entire rear line replaced in less than 2 hours and it cost less than 30 bucks. The "borrowed" flare tool cost me 22 bucks initially but got that back when I returned the tool to Oriely's Auto Parts. Why would you pay more for prebent? The bending tool (I had my own, but also available on loan from Oriely's) is so easy to use and the lines are so easy to bend/tweak it's insane. Just pull the old lines off, copy them on the ground with the new materials, then install. Unless you're looking to do a pretty show-only truck, prebent is a waste.

Inline tube, available in regular and stainless steel. They have whole vehicle kits too pretty cheap. I recently used their rear axle set for my 78 suburban and it looks just like the original with the spiral covering and fit well. Because it is stainless, I shouldn't ever have to replace it again either.

I did the whole car front to back on my MoPar, including the line lock roll control, the car has full custom brakes from Aerospace Engineeing, it was simple to do and fun too
