Need help, old tranny

When we bought my project truck from a friend of ours he said this was a extra tranny for it. It sat outside for a long time and is pretty rusted. Im just wondering whether its worth trying to get it working or if i should try and sell it or just scrap it. Any help would be appreciated! Sorry for the bad pics. I will try and get better ones later.

Do you have any idea what this would be? I believe the one in my truck now is the 400 or the th350. The truck is a 72 chevy k20 and it is a 3 speed automatic.
