Checking this 69 out tomorrow..

Just found this truck that is for sale
1969 long bed, 75k original miles, 6 cyl, manual trans, original owner.

Is this rear bumper an option? Looks too correct to be a homemade one

Body is pretty solid ( according to owner) and seems to be all there, did they ever came with this interior??

And i do have a short frame that I can work on.....

Re: Checking this 69 out tomorrow..

Nice truck. Looks solid! Bumper isn't factory but was most likely a dealer add-on...
Interior seat cover isn't stock but typical of a late 70's/or 80's tufted re-do...many times the door panels, dash pad, and parts of the dash were done too

Re: Checking this 69 out tomorrow..

I know exactly where Anasco is...Cool find in my home island!!!
We used to go to the "La pista de anasco" in the early 70 and early 80's with our 1.8 corollas!!

That truck would make a great shop truck, bag it and drive it!!!!

Bumper looks kind of like the one that came on my truck.I also think it was a dealer add on.

Re: Checking this 69 out tomorrow..

That's the same bumper that's on my 69 GMC, mines factory.

Truck looks pretty good. I say drive it if you get it, make some plans for it and then execute.

Re: Checking this 69 out tomorrow..

Looks like the owner cut out the area around the ignition. That could be difficult to repair properly

Re: Checking this 69 out tomorrow..

Saw the front part of the switch on another pic of the glove compartment
Got a whole truck for parts, if needed cut the section and weld although the arear can be tricky to do it right (as you say)
Maybe get rid of the whole area, including heater controls..who knows.

Re: Checking this 69 out tomorrow..

The search goes on..
1968 Fleetside, theres some rust that needs fixed, rain gutter, roof..
Runs good, springs in the rear, 5 lug pattern
But the owner is stuck at $4,000.. No a penny less..

That '68 looks like junk to me, but you should see if he'll sell you the heater delete panel. Prolly the most valuable thing I see in those pics...

Re: Checking this 69 out tomorrow..

Im not trying to convince myself that its worth the money...
But, if I fix it, lets say it will cost 5 grand tops, what would that truck be worth, Ive seen quite a few longbeds chopped going for $15,000 and more..
