68 park light question
i just received ( suppost to be a left and right N.O.S. )parking light assy. for a 67-68 c 10 that i got from e bay but i don't see a difference between the two. i thought there was a difference.both housings have made in USA and have guide1t and sae :67 and both lenses have guide 1TB and sae ip67 and either lens will fit either housing. can anyone tell me if these are the real deal . i don't have anything to compare them to I'm trying to gather parts to swap from 72-to 68 thanks...johnny

Re: 68 park light question
I believe the c-10 thru c-30 housings bolt up from the bottom and the lenses have an R and L on the lenses for which side. Big trucks didn't. I have seen alot of these on e-bay in the last year or so for as little as 9.99 each...

Re: 68 park light question
I have found that the '68 connectors were different from the '67 connectors on the Parking Light Assemblies. The '68 connector [thru the radiator wall] has one contact perpendicular to the other, making a "T" . The '67 has one contact on an angle, making a "V".
Otherwise they are the same. In the Headlight Switch, the '67s are configured so the Parking Lights go out when the Headlamps are energized. On '68s, the Parking Lights stay on with the Headlamps. I found this out when I had a '67 Suburban. I hit a deer and my grille was trashed. I found a replacement grille on a junkyard '68 Suburban [there's no difference between C/K 10-20 models, I just lucked out]. It dropped in fine mechanically, but I had to splice in compatible connectors to make the electrical connections work.

Re: 68 park light question
guys this is good info for anybody looking too replace their lights. I for one didnt know about the differnt connectors on 67-68 lights.
ebay definitly has its evils when the seller either dosent know what there selling or dont provide enough info on the item. I've been burned only once on s10 drilled and slotted rear rotors claimed they were for s10's and I even asked if they'll fit a zr2 but I guess the seller didnt know the zr2 rear is differnt from any other s10 but in the long run I got allmost twice what I paid for them and they fit the extreme they were bought for so no harm done I have seen these lights on ebays and saw the studs witch turned me away after I read the discription I figuerd if they said they were for c10's then they didnt know what they were talking about that right there was a red flag

Re: 68 park light question
Those people on Ebay have been informed of what their selling. They know it. Their just trying to find more people that don't know to buy them. I've seen them a lot on there and they still are saying that there for 67-68 c10's. They could be easily modified to work but I know thats not what you thought you were buying.
But all I'm saying is they know...

Re: 68 park light question
Yep I just got mine today for a 68 and yes the housing is for c30 and up, although the plug is right and will connect up...left and right side...just have to drill the holes in the housing and add bolts I guess....
