Don't do it, just replace your stock unit with a ProComp single unit. Dual stabilizers do nothing but patch bump steer issues caused by bad front end parts. Technically, a properly maintained front axle shouldn't need a stabilizer at all...

Dual stabilizers are a waste of money and scream redneck douche bag when you see them on the street!

Re: Dual stabilizer which one to go with ???

That was a HUGE over generalization. Bigger tires most certainly warrant using dual stabilizers with a well maintained front end. Not all of us like to drop are trucks to the ground and keep them on the road.... Not to mention, if the guy is asking about where to buy them... I hardly doubt that he has any qualms about the "douche bag look" you refer to. If he wants to buy them, I'd bet that he prefers the look. As do I.

To usefully respond to the thread with an answer to the question, many online 4x4 vendors carry the dual steering stabilizer kits. 4wheeldriveonline is one example I know of. The local custom 4x4 shops around where I live also carry them, just gotta tell them the make and model and they'll hook you up. Depending on how you use your truck will change which brand of stabilizer to consider, but the brackets to utilize two steering stabilizers will likely all be pretty similar. Hope this was useful...

Agreed. My K30 had a Rancho dual stabilizer when I bought it, even with that, it still had serious death wobble. I went through it, replaced some parts, threw the dual stabilizer in the trash because I didn't care for it, and replaced it with a single stabilizer in the stock position, and I have no more wobble even with my large tires.

I really don't care for the extra stabilizer hanging out in front of the tie rod, just begging to smash up against anything if you actually use it offroad.

If you really want one, Superlift, Tuff Country, Rough Country, Ranch, Trailmaster, Pro Comp, etc, they all pretty much make one. They are all pretty much the same, Pro Comp actually builds the poor quality "white shocks" for quite a few other brands to use in their kits. There are two different styles, one that uses the stock position, and adds another in front of the tie rod, or one that puts two right out in the way in front of the tie rod.

Re: Dual stabilizer which one to go with ???

Steering stabilizers are not meant to fix a wobble in the front end, they're used to lessen the effects of an erradic movent due to hitting a rock or something of the sort that would normally drastrically bump a tire and thus the steering wheel perhaps in an unwanted direction. Adding a second stabilizer would effective double the force that was previously required to "bump" your tires with one stabilizer...

I agree that stabilizers should not be used to mask a front end problem, but disagree that they don't have their place...

WOW! That's kind of harsh. I agree with Hartbraker. Not all of us like to drop them down to the road. I personally don't like that look but can appreciate the time and effort people put into making it that way. It's also what you want to do. I am very proud of redneck heritage as is most people probably are.

I like the look dual steering stabilizers. I have Ranch but others will work just well. Any off road shop can get them or maybe even Summit.

Re: Dual stabilizer which one to go with ???

I don't know why you guys think I am talking about lowered trucks...I happen to know what I am talking about and have a lot of experience with lifted suspension vehicles, especially squarebody trucks...

This doesn't look like a lowered truck, does it?

I stand by what I said in that they are a waste of money, I was simply trying to help the original posting member save money by giving him my opinion. Many real 4x4 shops now lean away from using dual stabilizers on ANY build...it really is a pointless "upgrade" even on a truck with oversized tires...

Re: Dual stabilizer which one to go with ???

No it doesn't look like it's lowered to the ground. It also looks like it's not going to be taken out of a garage or off the road or through a mud pit any time soon. Which is fine, it's a beautiful truck... I've read through your build, and follow it. You're doing some amazing work to that thing and are putting all the right pieces together to make for a very workable and good looking truck.

Re: Dual stabilizer which one to go with ???

This one is definitely a mall crawler, but not all of mine have been...sorry if I came off as a jerk, but the one time I had a squarebody with dual stabilizers (it came from the previous owner that way) I removed it after a few months because it never worked properly and had clearance issues where it hit the axle housing and the tie rod. Rancho told me to "not turn as sharp" to eliminate this contact issue...

Once I removed the dual stabilizer and installed a single, there was literally ZERO difference in the steering system and there was ZERO bump steer or any issues when offroad...and that suburban was on 37's and went offroad often!
