Carburetor Question?
Me again.
Whats the difference between manual choke carbs and electric choke carb? What is recommended if Im looking to upgrade my 307? Any advantages or disadvantages to either one? |

Manual chokes use a cable to the inside of the cab to control the opening an closing of the choke. Electric choke is wired to a keyed 12 volt supply to gradually open the choke (some wire it to the 12 volts from the alternator).
A lot of people like the idea of opening and closing the choke themselves so their preference on these older trucks is a manual choke. Others prefer to not mess with it and install an electric one. It's all a matter of preference and whether you want to change the setup you have now. My 68 GMC is manual and I like it.
