Blazer Fuel Tank Guage

I just finished the blazer fuel tank sawp on my 68 pickup. Now when I have a full tank of gas my guage reads just a little over 1/4. I know my guage is accurate because I used a old dash to test and it too read exactly the same as my new guage. Have any others had this same problem?? Thanks

Re: Blazer Fuel Tank Guage

More than likely it is the float assy. Hopefully just a bent arm or a bad float with a hole causing it to fill with gas. But while you have it removed check it for proper OHMS. Check the float to insure you get the 90 OHMS reading at full swing of the arm. Common for even new float assy to read above or below what ur dash gauge needs. Might even be able to do some bending on the arm to get it acting right. If the ohms isn't right it will give you some bogus readings. Remove the assy connect the wires with a good ground see what it is doing while removed.
