Inland Empire Driveline
I ordered the Inland Empire 502 kit driveshaft today that has larger tube shaft, stronger bearing housing and larger u joints. I should have them in next week, I will let you know how they turn out.
Also something bugging me is that everyone says their drive shafts have a slip joint infront of the carrier, my shaft in my truck does not have one. I hope this new one does the job for me.

Does your driveshaft bolt right to your 4L80E? I thought most autos had a slip joint.

No I have a slip yoke going into the transmission. I thought everyone said they had a slip spline in front of the carrier bearing also.

yellow72custom, that is the same as mine. I am sure the carrier bearing is the problem on my truck, they are just too flimsy. Also my vibrations started after I originally had the 700r trans put in. My 4l80E has eliminated most of the vibration. I just have a little that is annoying to me. I like the looks of the Empire driveshaft setup and their carrier bearings look good. How do you like the Rolla area?

I have the drop down carrier bearing on my truck and i haven't had too many problems with it. It went out once, and i replaced it but i didn't do the U-joints, so when it came time to do the u-joints i replaced it again for good measure.
I do have a pretty bad vibration in my truck above 80, but i was looking and one of the tires is missing a balance weight. So it looks like tire balance is most likley the problem. I do like the Rolla area quite a bit. UMR has been a OK school so far, there just aren't many girls, lol. Still alot more fun than Willow Springs (pop 2,168). Its really pretty right now, especially with the fall color going on, but so is the rest of the Ozarks
