backup light mounting pics?

Hey guys,

I have an old set of 6" or 7" procomp lamps that were on the front of my truck. I found some new lights for the front, and some flood lights that fit perfectly in the housings. I'm thinking backup lights!

On my other truck with a 4" body lift, I mounted the backup lights to either side of the hitch reciever mounting plate, but since there is no body lift on my '78 the bumper won't allow for that.

these lights are overall about 8" tall and 5" deep (roughly) so I don't think that either side of the tail gate on the bumper is really an option. Anyone out there have any ideas?

I have fabrication equipment, I just need ideas!

if you have a roll bar in the bed, maybe hang them off of that. That will give you more light output, light up the bed as well if you load that and no room problems. Other than that, with a light this huge, you won´t find room on the bumper, frenched into the bumper or mount it below. besides, if these are driving lights, the spread might not be suited for backing up anyways, you´d need a dedicated flood or work lamp for that.... just my 2cents....

I should have mentioned the truck is built for wheeling and i found flood lights that fit into the cans

well, if it is for wheeling only, why don´t you mount the driving lights on the rear quaterpanel? So basically through the last stake pocket ontop of the bedrail. it would look a little silly, bit give you great light output and keep them out of harms way.

A super clean version is the little Rigig Industries LED lights frenched into the rear bumper....

Pop a hole in the tailgate on the top lip and thread it, screw the lights into the holes and put a bolt between the light and the hole to tighten it up once its facing the way u want it

You could put them in the utility holes in the bed corners.
