Re: Looking at a Longstep
If I get a hold of one I don't plan on ever selling it, so I wouldn't be worried about resell value lol. I just hope someday when I have kids I can instill in them the same love of trucks that got from my dad.
Like I said though, it'll just take some patience and I'll get one eventually.

Re: Looking at a Longstep
Just out of curiosity, are there any sites outside of Here, Craigslist and Ebay that are good for finding trucks for sale?

Here's a fixer upper. You can also look for trucks in Hemmings Motor News, each issue is usually good for a couple interesting ads, but you have to sift through the $30,000 restored trucks.

Re: Looking at a Longstep
Long steps are odd and that's why I buy them when I can.

Re: Looking at a Longstep
That's why I like them so much, they're just different and well if you talk to my dad he'd say that different suites me pretty well. I've got two athletically inclined older brothers, both very smurf-like, and I'm a 6'2" nerd. I'm just the oddball in the family, also, the only one that like the old Plymouth Superbirds and Daytona Chargers.

Re: Looking at a Longstep
Just for grins I decided to play with my photoshop program and make a rough (well, Really rough lol) design preview. This is based off my original sketches and just thought it would be fun to do and update a thread.
Any thoughts on how the basic idea looks? Better lowered or stock height?

Re: Looking at a Longstep
Lowered one looks cool! Do like the fenders. Stacks...................maybe NASCAR style flat tips exiting in front of rear wheels.

As for the stacks they're just something I've always liked, probably from growing up around semis lol. I will admit though that I'm not fond of the just straight pipe sticking up. I'd probably put a cover around them that stopped at the top of the bed ~ heat protect the inside of it so the outside could be painted to match the rest of the truck. I hadn't thought about the NASCAR style exhaust, which sounds pretty cool. I may have to make an edit and post it up.

Re: Looking at a Longstep
Long steps rock...though I could be slightly prejudiced. If you are looking for that hard working stance, nothing beats them...imho
