Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
i personally like the older style better
you need to change the wipershafts (think they need to be longer) an the plate the wipersshafts run through to get it to fit , if remember correctly the newer style has the wiperarms hiding under the bonnetedge the older style has them on top of a plate behind a shorter bonnet a complete nose with radiator lightwiring and the lot should be about 800 bucks or so in rustfree condition

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
That's what I am thinking also ! Although I think the front end will hinge on what direction I go on the build if I go the Pro-touring route I will use The. 90 model if I go classic with trim I like the round eye ! I might do a couple renderings and get everyone's opinion !

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
the trim seems to be hard to find without any dents and dings , there was one truck i seen on here that had the trim airbrushed on and it looked verry nice

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
over here we used to make the rong at the most rear a roller so you could drop wat you wanted on top on it walk to the back lift that and walk it to the front without it sliding or damaging

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
thats a cool idea , this one goes side to side on the bed above the wheel humps and it is 36 inches front to back and i think 60 inches wide to fit between the top edge of the bed rails

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Will your rack be down in the bed or will it be mounted up high; like flush with the roof?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
the rack is 8 inches tall on the high side and 6 inches tall on the low side (that is the side the surfboard will mount on ) the square tubing bottom frame will mount level with the top of the bed rails, so it will be sticking up 8 inches above the top of the bed basically

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Looks cool Mike! How are going to fasten the stips? How you gonna mount it to the truck? How thick are the strips? You do the tube bending?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
the strips use stainless screws that come up from the bottom of each one, Mounting it in the side of the bedrails with two nut zerts on each side, the strips are 3/4 thick, yes me a my friend Charles Mayhew bent all of the tubing , thanks man ! i have a couple antique ice chests that i will paint to match and carry them on the rack with my cleaning supplies in them .
