Wheel Identification

Hey gentlemen, I am looking at a 1970 Chevy, long bed. It is in not too bad a shape. One problem I have is that the PO moved from his house and then someone stole the wheels and left the gas cap off. It is a six lug truck with drums on the front. What year model wheels will work, I just need something to try and get it home so I can work on it. Will newer model, maybe 2001 wheels work? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Wheel Identification

As for steelies:
1960-70 C10 or K10 will fit as long as nobody has swapped on disk brakes.
71-87 K10 or K5 wheels will fit (71 and up half ton trucks went to 5 lug and 3/4 tonners are always 8 lug).

If you ever plan to swap on disks, focus your search on the 71-87 K5/K10 wheels. If not, I'd still focus on those wheels or 69-70 steelies. The early 60's 6 lug steelies were 5.5" width vs some of the later 60's trucks that got some 6" or 7" wheels from the factory.

Hope that helps.
