Rear end options

Hi
My question is:
Can I use my rearend on my 72 jimmy as a trailing arm rearend for a 2 Ed conversion I am doing?
This is what I am thinking.
I have trailing arms
I have drop crossmember
Axle is original 4wd 373 posi rear with 6 lug axles
Buy 5 lug axles from moser and new brake hubs, grind off leaf perches and shock mounts, hook everything up in new attach it all with axle seats for trailing arms loose then center wheels bolt it in, then set pinion angle to get driveshaft to 0 degrees and tack weld the seat, pull rearend out and finish weld the seat on???
Anyone see an issue here?
Thank you..... Hope it makes sense.
