Crager rims

looking for some advice I am close to installing my five lug conversion and disk brake set up from ccp. i am dropping the front 4" and the back 6". I saw a set of crager rims [eliminator p ] they are 17 x 8 would these rims with a 255/50/17 fill the wheel well enough ? I really like these rims but i cant picture this set up.... not enough time building trucks yet.The truck is a 69 short bed.

Re: Crager rims

Depends what you call "fill the wheelwell"?
I have run a 17x8 up front (with 5" BS) and a 255/50-17 tire.
I thought they looked good,... then.
But now I like the look of a 20" wheel.
Even 18's look small to me.
So really it's a matter of opinion.

I run larger tires on 17" cragers and mine are 9" wide

255/65r17 front

265/75r17 rear different year truck and your truck will certainly look better than mine in the wheel well area..........Kieth

Re: Crager rims

Something to consider before making your final choice is tire cost. These days 20" tires are sometimes cheapers than 17's or 18's due to the mass quantity produced to replace OEM tires.

Remember if you do a fair amount of driving you may buy tires again. Wheels you buy just once.
