Rear window screws???

Ok, I've searched and searched but I can't come up with anything. I wish I had a picture to show, I can take one tonight. However, last night I starting to Prep the inside of my cab for paint and I've been welding up a ton of screw holes the P/O drilled everywhere.
My question is about an inch away from the rear window channel "I have a 64 small window btw" there are scews placed about every 2-3 inches all the way around the window channel???
I've tried to look this up but 99% of the interior pics I've found only show the dash and seats. It looks strange and I have no clue what the purpose of the screws are because the window channes is spot welded together. I'm not sure if this is something from the factory or if the P/O did it. I want to weld up the holes and smooth it out but I want to make sure there isn't a purpose for it. I can't get anything up inside to see if the screws are holding something together or I would just weld them all up.

My guess is the PO had a camper on and one of those pass thru seals that uses snap buttons to hold it (likely the window was removed). This was very common on old camper setups to seal the opening between the cab and camper and allow someone to pass through it (small person on a small window cab, LOL).

Weld them up!

That would make sense but these are on the inside of the cab?

Yep, that is exactly where I would find them. It was typically a leather "ring" that would attach to the inside of the cab and the inside of the camper, to seal them from the outside. It is nothing like modern day camper or shells.

These snapped on like the old school tonneau covers, hence the holes. They were usually made out of vinyl and snapped on both the inside of teh camper shell and the inside of the cab to seal the union of the two.

Looking thru your build thread those holes by the back glass look to be done by the PO. Not sure if that would of been for some kind of accent molding, or if there was a camper on the back at one time maybe that would have been for some kit of boot between the cab and camper?

Man, these things are old school. Did a bunch of Google searches and cannot find a pic of one. These used to be on almost every old camper setup. My grandpa and uncle's camper both had them but this dates back into the early 70's.
