Question about radio antenna holes on 67

I have seen several pictures of 67's lately and am I the only one who has the radio antenna hole on the driver side of the cowl? Is it an early 67 thing?

Dave

67's are the only ones we have seen with drivers side antenna's and then only about 1 or 2 in 10 have it on drivers side. I should start checking whether it was 1 plant or just a couple of the plants that did this as I have the 7th GMC truck off the assembly line at the Fremont plant in 1967 and its antenna is on the passenger side.

My '67 Sub has the AM antenna on the drivers side. My '68 Pickup and '71 Jimmy have theirs on the Pass side.
The '67 and '68 were Fremont units. The GMC was built in St Louis. [Actually, as I recall, I mounted the antenna on the '68 myself, it was not originally optioned with a radio]

my 71 has it on the driver's side... I don't think it came with a radio...and was added later. I think my truck started it's life as a municipal or school district truck...it was originally yellow.

Driver's Side

My '67 fleetside long bed was made in the Baltimore plant and the antenna hole is on the driver's side cowl.

you'll find that the earlier '67's have them on the passenger side. the later on the drivers - you can sort of tell how early yours is by the key bezel in the cab. - the small ones are early and the ungodly huge ones are later on, as for the small back windows. some of the parts were used from the 66, to use up alot of older stock from the previous years. - that was explained to me by a flynt plant technician that actually worked on the line for 14 years. - so he is getting senile, so I don't really know how much of that is true.

67cst,

You got lucky......no body work to fill on in........

I'd rather put a hidden antenna in, looks cleaner..........
