1956 vent window install - do I need to remove the door glass?
Going to install vent windows for the first time. Any advice would be appriciated.

Just unfasten what's there, have both windows in the door before you fasten anything. Get someone to help hold one window while you fasten the other. Hope this makes sense.

just new vent windows?
they pull out of the frame and push back in. no assembly required. new assembly including the window track? gut the door and reassemble everything comes out except the door latch

Couple of old retired guys leave the wives at home and go driving two-lane roads, in a '57 Panel.
Passenger complains about wind noise from the wind wing (vent window for the kids). Funny thing is I never paid attention to it or I had the cd player up too loud to hear. Now, I hear it all the time. So, I will be watching this thread for any tips I can use on replacing the rubber. :-) |

vent window rubber can be a pain to ''chisel '' out if it is v ery old - i have done a few of them . best advice i can give is -A - Take your time -
B - use very soapy water to install new rubber c - make sure wing window fits well and is tight D - REPEAT A . |
