GRRR! Leaking Wheel Cylinder
Just this past Saturday I mentioned to my wife how happy I was that my Blazer doesn't leak any fluids. I went through the trans, transfer case, and rear end this past summer and replaced all the seals, and it's been very nice not to worry about my trans, in particular, leaking out.
So this morning I went out to get in the Blazer and noticed a stream of fluid on the inside of one of my rear tires. I checked it, and it was brake fluid. The frustrating part is that I put new wheel cylinders on two years ago. And, of course, they have a one-year limited warranty. Not that they're terribly expensive, but now I have to take the time to replace it again, and most likely the shoes (because they'll be wet) and then bleed the brakes. Thanks for listening to my rant. |

Well, there are worse things, but I understand your frustration. Main thing is you know what it is & how to fix it. And as you said, not too expensive.

Re: GRRR! Leaking Wheel Cylinder
This is one of those things that you figure if you fix it good, it will stay fixed forever, but it never does (BTDT many times).

Re: GRRR! Leaking Wheel Cylinder
The ones I got at O' Reilly's have been holding up good and were pretty cheap. Least it's an easy fix compared to other things.

I called the counter man at O'Reilly Saturday to order a part for the 79 Camaro, and he knows me by name. I'm not sure if that's a good thing. |
