Re: Testing all truck guys!

I have seen it done by Chevy with the tach in the right but did Chevy ever do the clock with the build? I have seen them out there but I thought they were added by fellows who are building them up like us. I thought from the factory they probated on the dash?
Thanks

Re: Testing all truck guys!

Well I never worked for Chevrolet so I cant say for sure but from what I heard from guys in my area (Los Angeles, California) that the clock and tach were stock but just far and few between. When I sold my '64 I took it off and put on another speedometer so I could use it on my next truck.

Re: Testing all truck guys!

here is one lilred66 did.. maybe a 65 chev car clock, can't remember what he said it was out of....

...and the air&vac. guages, as far as I know they were the only option for the left side of the cluster, the factory clock was an external unit mounted to the dash.

Re: Testing all truck guys!

Is that cluster style for a certain year or did the cluster layout have options? (other than what was already mentioned) I thought mine was original but it doesn’t look like that one...

Your clock looks like the early GMC clock. Ive seen these from about 1958 to 1966 in GMC only. Heres a few pictures of the ones Ive collected. The used one came from a 59 GMC NAPCO truck I have and the other is an NOS one for 1960 1961 GMC trucks but was the same I believe till 1966. Both of these are also dated on the back.Like others have said here from the factory or as an accessory Chevy used A dash top clock.Hope this helps. Jon
