Re: original (not modified) truck pics

I think I found my new favorite thread on here! Love to see stock trucks... The first thing I look at on an old truck is to see if the steering wheel, radio, and wheels have been changed...

Re: original (not modified) truck pics

Here's a more recent picture of my '72 K2500. I had redone the gutter seal and the paint was flaking off the primer because I thought it was sanding/sealing primer and went right over it. I went to redo it and discovered the seam sealer I had used wasn't doing it's job (3M). It peeled up easily (stayed pliable) and I did the whole thing over with better stuff this time. I also removed the rear window and put a new gasket & slider in. Glad I did, too! When they put the factory slider in they used a sealer that dried and cracked. It allowed space between the body and gasket. Water was getting in and it was potted all along the top and bottom. It turned into a big project and it's all good now. So,anyone with original sliders I suggest you check that out!

Re: original (not modified) truck pics

joe, #42 shows the rear end with no aluminum trim around the tail lights and tail gate. Was that the way it came? just curious.
so many beautiful trucks!

Special K, I have sliding rear window, I think I'll go check out the leaking water issue as soon as it warms up a bit, thanks

67 anthony, what color is your truck? I like it a lot

Good question on Joe's trick trim.

If you can pull the gasket back (going to be tough,if not impossible) to see if they used a caulk is the question. I think the problem was the caulk,it shouldn't be necessary. Once it dried and cracked it didn't seal and it causes separation to prevent the seal from doing it's job. I had one spot of surface rust peaking out about the window on the right, maybe 3/4" high and 1"-2" wide. When I removed the window and gasket it was all the way across top and bottom. The sides were fine,I guess, because they drained.

Here are some that aren't mine:
