Throttle Control Help
I have a 69 CST 396 with Throttle Control. In the process of a full frame off resto, and didn't take good pics of the firewall before disassembly, and I,m not sure of where the cable comes through. Any help, especially a pic. Hey thanks

There are two styles, interior connect and exterior connect. This thread shows both but it doesn't show the interior bracket mounted. It mounts on the gas pedal arm. ('71 & '72 I think) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=182074 If yours is an exterior connect (It should be) it should have a small round clip on the cable, near the end, that will hold the cable where it goes through the firewall. Re: Throttle Control Help
Thanks Doc but the pic in the thread must be earlier than 69, have no hole in firewall as in the pic and the throttle knob is on the left side of the cluster. I know it wasn't added because it's listed on the SPID. Pic of a 69 would be great.

Is your engine throttle linkage the rod type or cable? LockDoc

To the best of my knowledge all of the trucks with the rod linkage had the hole in the area that the picture shows, because the cable fastens to a bracket on the accelerator pedal arm outside the firewall. I have included a picture of the '71-'72 setup that connects to the pedal arm inside the firewall. All the rest of them install like the picture in the link I posted, unless they are aftermarket. It really doesn't matter where the knob is located, the hole in the firewall would have to be in the same place. The hole is pretty small, and can be hard to see, are you sure you are not overlooking it? LockDoc
