Re: is this bracket needed for anything?
I asked the tech at the dealership when I was doing mine. He said it was a guard to keep the fuel rail from hitting the fire wall in a front end collision to reduce the chance of fuel spraying all over the place.

Re: is this bracket needed for anything?
hmmm given my past history with front end crashes, maybe its not so much in the way. i think it can stay there.
![]() and yes the pavement is still scorched there, i get to thank the lord twice a day when i pass that spot on the way to work and on the way home that he let me live that day.

Re: is this bracket needed for anything?
Heck man, I don't think that bracket will help if you flip the truck over and light it on fire
![]() Glad your ok tho, I imagine the 15-20 seconds leading up to that was not enjoyable.

and yes when burning plastic is dripping down from the fire on top of the truck, it got real exciting quickly.

Re: is this bracket needed for anything?
Yeah, maybe you ought to paint a cross on that bracket and leave it there for good luck.
