Joesjunk: My God man. Usually when you see someone with a crazy long list of classics, there might be a couple nice ones and all the rest are parts vehicles or need restoration... badly You have an insanely nice collection! I had no idea, I just knew you had the super nice flatbed.

Re: original (not modified) truck pics
While not completely stock this 71 Cheyenne 30 is a very period workhorse.

Re: original (not modified) truck pics
This 72 Cheyenne Super 30 and the trucks in posts #80 & 81 were all owned by the same owner. The Cheyenne Super 30 here has been restored but overall looks very correct.

Re: original (not modified) truck pics
Dang, there are a lot of nice original trucks on here. Too bad mine was repainted, had a different engine put in, and I'm not sure if its the original bed or not.
Still, a lot of nice trucks you guys! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: original (not modified) truck pics
In post #80, what is that second shifter on the console for? I've never seen a C30 that wasn't a dually flatbed or a tow truck.

Now C30 pickups came in two flavors. You could get a rather plain 9' Stepside C30 pickup. But Chevrolet also offered a 8 1/2' Fleetside. Based on the heavier and longer wheelbase C30 chassis, it was sprung and badged as a C20 or a C30. These were known as Longhorns and were aimed at the then growing truck camper market.

Re: original (not modified) truck pics
Here are more C30 pickups, none are mine. The C/30s had 133" wheelbase compared to 127" of longbeds. I know the 2-tone Blue & White Longhorn was Josh Quinn's and the Red Stepside was a customer of Wes Hepp.

Re: original (not modified) truck pics
Was this side trim option actually offered for stepsides? I'm sure it was, I've seen it on a bunch of trucks... it just seems odd. It would have GREAT if GM created a 67/68 trim piece for around the stepside fenders, it wouldn't need to be continued onto the bedsides, but for the fender would have been cool!

Re: original (not modified) truck pics
I'm pretty sure you could get a truck like that new. Kind of reminds me of when Ford cancelled the unibody truck in 63, hadn't developed a fleet bed for their trucks, so they used the styleside 58-60 boxes on their trucks until around 64, I think certain longbeds and 4x4s got the old bed for a year or two longer until bed production caught up to demand. The bed looks COMPLETELY wrong for the truck, but they still sold like that brand new...

As to trim on the bed, it was considered to be a work body. Doubt there would have been many takers for trim.

Re: original (not modified) truck pics
Looks like Fleetside trim cut down to fit the flat sides of the fender. But IIRC someone here posted a picture of a dually conversion with stepside fenders with custom bent trim to fit the fenders.
