Quality of trim from "Truck Shop" in Orange Ca?
Has anyone ever used trim from the "Truck Shop", in Orange CA? Based on what I have heard, I am leaning towards ordering all my upper and lower trim from Mar-k. I can save about $300 though, if I get it from the Truck Shop.
Is it worth the $300? Are they that much different in quality? Thanks to anyone who has gone through this and could offer any advice. Jason. |

well I cant answer your question on the trim because i have no expeirence with aftermarket trim.
but damn near everytime I read somebody(or me) asking about "the truck shop" in ca. the reponse is ziltch or not good, I can say dont buy the window fuzzies/seal/scrapers whatever you call them.we put them on the kids 67 and they fell apart in 3 months I did read good things about mar-k's trim though

Thanks. That is my gut feeling, but I was hoping someone would say they had good luck with them. $300 isn't chicken scratch in the Obama economy, ya know.

I haven't bought any trim from Mar-K but bought their polished stainless bedstrips, bolts and body parts and they are top notch and being a Board Vendor they should give you a discount.

Mar-K + Made in USA
Truck Shop (and anywhere else) + Made in a foreign country There's your $300 difference and I've heard nothing but good on anything they make. It's like when these trucks were made when we were the best.

Thanks for all the opinions.
I think I'll err on the side of caution for the trim. Not something I want to do twice. Maybe I'll test the waters with the Truck Shop on something a little less expensive. |

Re: Quality of trim from "Truck Shop" in Orange Ca?
MAR-K has great trim pieces.
The car and truck shop in OC CA is great, but their online ordering process is lacking. Plus they are way behind in technology for their store, phone in and remote support is pretty sketchy. As an example they hand write your orders when you are there, and they have runners to get the parts. I just drive over there and get what I need, since they have a great stock of parts. I rarely walk away empty handed, due to something not being in stock. Every time I go there, there is a huge line with people dropping huge money on parts. So when ever I go there I plan to be there for a while. I don't mind, since like I said above I usually walk away with what I was looking for.

Depends on the route you are going with your truck resto. In my Opinion for what it is worth, if you are doing a nice quality restoration go with the Mar-K, Daily driver or good restoration the cheaper will do. The main difference I usually see is in the upper, Mar-k is better detailed.

Yeah,I'm not saying the Counterpart trim is bad. I'm saying the Mar-K is better.
