Does anyone have any pics of the stock 49' clutch and brake pedals and linkages, preferably with the cab off of the truck?

What exactly are you looking for? I can look through my album, I would be able to help with the pedals, but I removed the SM465 before I started taking photos.

Any pics that you've got would be helpful.

I'm fabbing up some brackets to install a power brake booster and a hydraulic clutch and just want to see how the factory did it as a reference. I also want to see where the pedals are side to side, in reference to the frame rail.

Based on where the center of the driver's seat is going to be in my truck, my brake pedal needs to be right about where the frame rail is and the clutch pedal needs to be on the outside of the frame rail. I want to see how this compares to the factory setup.

I don't have the original pedal assembly, and I've never seen one.

Sure, when I get home I will look around.

I am running the same setup on my truck (hydraulic clutch with a brake booster underneath the cab). We fabbed a bracket very similar to this to hold both my booster and my hydraulic reservoir for the clutch.

I am a bit confused of why you have to run the clutch pedal on the outside of the frame rail though, you should really be able to run them on the inside of the frame rail with no problem, however it will be snug.

I'll be interested to see what you came up with. I saw the setup that you linked to, but the pedal locations seem to be off. But the fact that the locations that I think I need are so different from everyone elses is making me think that my measurements are way off.

Anyway, how I came to my measurements are as follows:
My bucket seats will be mounted at about 31" center to center. I've got plus or minus an inch of wiggle room on this dimension. If I want the brake pedal to be in the center of the driver's seat, it will need to be 15 1/2" from the center of the chassis. If I put the pedal just on the inside of the frame rail, its only 12 1/2" or so from the center of the truck. If I then put the clutch pedal 5" to the left of the brake pedal, that puts it outside the frame rail.

I really want this to be a comfortable vehicle to drive so I am putting alot of energy into driver ergonomics.... maybe I'm overthinking it.

While looking around the internet, I managed to find what I think is a pic of what I am looking for. Is this the setup that they used in 49? If it is, how did the pedals attach to the "levers" shown in these pics?

The pedals are attached to a pivot shaft which connects through the frame. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the setup from the bottom - I will be heading home in a few weeks so I could grab pictures if you want.

Thanks, that helps alot. I was wondering how GM did the clutch pedal without putting it outside the frame rail. I think I may end up with a similar "bent" clutch pedal so that everything is inside the frame, but we'll see.

I was also doing some measurement in the cab today and figured out more where stuff is located. It appears that the pedals weren't in the most optimum positions when these trucks were new. Most newer vehicles have the brake pedal centered on the seat, or maybe just a little to the driver's right. AD trucks appear to have the brake and clutch pedals straddling the steering wheel, with the gas pedal even further to the right.
