exhaust system

i've got a 1985 chevy k10. It has a 350 in it and i was wondering what headers to use, along with what size pipe i should use and if true duels or a x pipe would be better for torque/hp gains. Thanks

Re: exhaust system

Welcome to the board.

For headers, I recommend Hedman Elite series. I can't speak for the 4x4 version, but the 2WD version had a superior fit and finish to the typical $100 headers. The cheap ones will leak, fry plug wires, and just don't fit the truck well. This is not a place you want to cheap out, or you will end up hating the headers and be begging for your manifolds back.

For a 350 with a dual exhaust I recommend 2.25 inch pipe. As far as separate unconnected dual pipes, H pipe, and X pipe a lot of is it about sound and how much you want to spend.

Personally, I would run unconnected dual pipes, but that is just me. I like the stereo sound you get from having the sides separate.

+1

I am putting Hedman headers and Dynamax 2.25 pipes on my 86 K10 hopefully this weekend if I get far enough along with the engine swap.

Re: exhaust system

I think the Pypes system is for 2WD only.
