Auxiliary Tank in Rear of Zbed

Never seen one here before. It's on spid and no sign of ever being in front. Has gas tank like 60-66 sub/panel. Just curious if anyone else has seen this.

Re: Auxiliary Tank in Rear of Zbed

Is it listed as RPO N18 on the SPID? A rear tank was an option on the '70 trucks and maybe some '69s. These rare pictures provided by Special-K document the topside and cab installations. Overall the system is very similar to a Blazer or Suburban. The later NL2 aux. tank, found under the left front bed, was a '72 only option.

Re: Auxiliary Tank in Rear of Zbed

Feel free to pull it out and send it to me. It was a lean Christmas around here. :-)

Relly though if you are going to look at it, would you please document the filler location? This is best by measuring the distance down from the top and foward from the rear edge of the bed. Also the distance of the inside cover from the rear as well.

Thank You for taking the time to document the SPID and location for us. Did you buy the truck too? :-)

Re: Auxiliary Tank in Rear of Zbed

That's a real smooth install with the box covering the filler tube and all. What size is the tank? It looks like a good option for anyone looking to put in a rear tank and drop the one in the cab.
