I need help

I put my truck in drive today, and my brakes locked up, and it wouldnt move foreward. So I put it in neutral( tried to push it), and it still wouldnt move foreward. Then I put it in reverse, and it went back fine.

In other words, my truck cant go foreward without the brakes locking up.

Can you tell if it's the front or rear or both locking up?

You say it went backward's fine but did you try to move foreward's again? And if so were the brake's still locked?

Any way it sounds like the priority valve may be @ fault or bad return springs if it's the rear's.

I cant tell really, I've tried it several times, and it does the same thing everytime. But thanks everyone for the help. I really appreciate it.

A few years ago when my tranny bit the dust, it wouldn't move in any gear except reverse. I was 40 miles from home. I called a tow truck.

well to find out for sure, jack up each wheel and try to spin it. if it doesnt spin, thats the one that's siezed. yank the wheel and relpace the caliper. personally I would replace them both just so u have a matched system and not chasing problems later. to check the rear, jack up the rear, put the tranny in neutral and try turning 1 side. even if it doesnt turn all the way around it should move a little, if it doesnt then that's the side thats buggered. yank the wheel and drum and see whats goin on.
I was actually planning on doing that today. And I really hope its not my trans., although a new one would'nt really be all that expensive. It would still be a good chunk of money though. Anyways, thanks again everyone, and I'll let you know how it goes.

Are you sure your E-Brake is not stuck on?

Worth a check.

I had to back down the street, then into a dead end(a very round dead end), and finally back down the street and into my drive way. Oh yes, and I still obeyed all traffic laws, complete stop at a stop sign, and my turn signal This was all on my street by the way, no one around (exept for a few neighbors that were looking at me funny).
