Call your local glass shop because I will give you a tip. I had a local glass shop install a used windshield in one of my old trucks one time and it was a very reputable glass shop and the guy told me that he could not guaranty that it would not leak and he was correct it did leak when it rained really hard. We used the old gasket that was in it. If you did go with a used glass then I would atleast get a new gasket.

Re: WTB Good Windshield NC/SC area
You need to find a glass company that was in the business in the 60's-70's. The urethane guys have no knowledge about our trucks. Get a 1972 Fisher Body Manual and read up on the process.
You should use a new gasket and a new windshield, but the key to our truck glass installations is a flow grade sealer that is injected along the rubber to windshield pinchweld areas. You normally don't have any leaks, but you just need to isolate it. I enclosed a pic of the product made by Kent that is probably out of production now, that was made specifically for these issues. Someone may make a substitute. I have a used windshield in Atlanta, but I would opt for a new one! |
