Forgive my ignorance on this subject. Is there something making this a poor choice for a front end swap?
I searched! Honest I did.

Enough money can make anything happen, but it's gonna be pretty darn hard to line all of that up and make it look nice. I assume you're talking about the 55-56 style not the new interceptors lol

I just sold an 04 CV front end assembly to a guy building a 68 ford. I'm not sure it would do so well on the c10.

I currently have a 66 F100 receiving a A Crown Vic front end, and while a nice front end for a F series. It would require major rework to fit a Chevy.

The Ford frame is wider then a Chevy by a good amount I am going off memory here. A Ford frame is 36", a Chevy is 32", and a Crown Vic K member is 36.5".

So you would need to fabricate the K-member that everything attaches too, and shorten the rack to match. While it could be a very interesting when finished it would be a major undertaking, and you'll won't end up much better off if any then a modded C10 frame. At least in terms of handling, but looks with the aluminum A-arms polished up is another thing.

So you would have to figure out from the very beginning how you want your want your truck to sit because once the welding starts it is pretty much set in stone. Plus or minus a bit because of lowering or raising.

If you lived closer to me you could come look at my set-up to see how it looks.

I see that its a poor choice considering there are so many way to change the 67-72 front end to what ever configuration you might desire with bolt on components. There is nothing bolt on about the Crown Vic conversion. Even if it were free, it not a good choice.

I think it's great swap for the Fords that have that I beam junk in the front but 63-87 front ends are fine. Just add some drop spindles & coils and your good to go. No need to cut your truck in half for IFS when it already has it. Just my 2 cents.

For what's out there regarding the C10's, I don't think it would look right and not worth the work imo.

They fit great on a Ford, but not on these

The best swap would be the 73-87 gm truck or you can go aftermarket ifs like nolimit or scotts hot rod shop.

Ok guys, I see the overwhelmingly answer is "NO" to the CV front end for a C/10.

I want to run a 5 x 4.5 wheel on the front of my 64 C/10.

Other than a wheel adapter, what is a bolt on set up for spindles and rotors?

The crown vic spring are too stiff. I just got new spring rate to sit the front down another 2 inches. I think this is a first for a C-10 so let me know what you think

They have done it on Gas Monkey a couple times... but its usually to Fords...

Thank you. I'm in Morgan Hill now. Also I know That they have done it on the Ass Monkey show. Keep in mind I set this up two years ago, before the show and the f100 frame is the same width as the crown vic alum cross member. On a f100 all you have to do is reinforce the c channel for the four factory bolts. and mount the arm bushings. The hardest part of the swap is ensuring the suspension is square to a frame that tappers and rises unlike the ford. Good luck and let me know if I can help. I also do Fab at my House shop so if you are in the bay area come and check it out. The truck should be at the next Good Guys show in Pleasanton this summer
