Build thread Dale_Brown SWB72K10

Took delivery of my 1972 SWB Fleet K10 few weeks ago. As per most east coast trucks the floor, rockers, doors, and core support shot! When searching CL I came across a local seller that has most of my parts for sale and a reasonable price. Seems he lost interest after replacing all rusted areas in his 71 cab.

The cab he has dosent have a VIN #. Would anyone know is I can just document my build and transfer the VIM from my cab to my replacment cab?

If anyone knows how to add photos to my thread please let me know.

Re: Build thread Dale_Brown SWB72K10

To add a photo that you have on your computer click the go advanced button near the bottom of the screen. Then look for the attachment icon that is near the top of the text field (where you type your message). It looks like a paper clip. Then click the brose button and navigate to your photo. You can do up to 4 and then hit the upload button. There is a max file size for each photo so you might nead to resize them.

As for your VIN swapping question. It might vary from state to state. But the general answer is no, you cant switch the VIN from one to the other. Im an sure it is done but if you mention that to the DMV after the fact you might be asking for problems.

The DMV would prob want to issue you a new VIN under a reconstructed or rebuilt tile.

You might want to try and find some rosette rivets or read up on them...

Also there is an entire section for build threads. I ask a lot of questions over here in this forum but once I start my build Im gonna make one in the actual build section.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, John
