Re: Rear axle

the older 10 bolts came in a lot of c10's a 12 bolt from that era is common as well. and a little tougher

I installed a 10 bolt posi from a 91 caprice, it replaced the 12 bolt, it has the same size wheel and carrier bearings as the but a larger pinion bearing. it also has the same size ring gear. should be tough enough for most applications.. not sure what kind of power your running

Re: Rear axle

i would think you can just intsall a six lug rear out of a 90's and up pick up/suv.. guess it depends on how much fabrication you want/can do. another issue depending on the year would be the width.

i would use a hd six lug rear. bigger drums or factory disc brakes. probably from a 1500 tahoe or surburban.
