This is a good question. I wanted to do something with an inlaid bow tie in the wood or something really slick.

I was wondering if an oak bedwood kit would work. Like from a shortbed stepside?

Since the floor is used as a structural part, and it is tied into the body/floor/wheel wells/support frames, it can be a project. We
removed the floor out of this Burb once it was of of the frame and hanging by two chainfalls and it was still a project. We cleaned up the old marine plywood floor and reused it as it was in very good condition. We also painted it before reinstalling. Jim |

If you want a wood floor for show,I would overlay the stock floor. You can use the laminated flooring or thin hardwood.I did a 56 ford panel with a wood overlay and polished hold down strips.

We used 3/8 thick red oak.It was installed as a floating floor. We used 1/8"x3" steel strips that fit width ways on the floor.Attatched T bolts,by weld, in the spacing needed for the hold down strips. The strips where like the ones for a truck bed.layed the boards over the 1/8' steel strips. We then used polished SS angle at the front and back to hold the floor .the SS strips where layed lenth ways and held to the T-bolts with polished SS cap nuts.No holes had to be drilled in the floor except for the front and rear angles.
