Re: no back up lights

I believe the 3ott used a back up light switch on the column down by the firewall and the 4 speed uses one on the trans but I may be wrong.

Re: no back up lights

Do you still have the 3ott column? Look under the dash. I know on automatic trans trucks the neutral safety switch and backup light switch are combined. I belies the 3ott are as well. The auto neutral switch wires are purple. I think 3ott are as well so you are looking for the other pair. Jumper between the two to figure out if it is in fact the right pair. Yourlights should come on if they worked before the swap. The 4 spd switch is on the trans if I remember correctly. Just run wires from the trans to the old connector.

I hope I am guiding you in the right direction. I have had two 3ott trucks in the past but never swapped trannys and they were working so I'm just going off memory of what I saw while under the dash on other projects.

I use mine as a DD and living out in the sticks without backup lights is near impossible.

I'm in the 'burbs, but my block is dark. And tinted windows don't help.

I mounted 2 halogen driving lights under the rear bumper. Added a relay and a switch under dash.
