Re: lets go for mpg on a c20

Thanks, my dad had a 92 6 lug 3/4 ton. It wasn't much heavier than a half but was 6 lug. I emailed ece to find out a parts list. Thanks for help

Everyone has their opinion but buying a "commuter vehicle" would add a 4th vehicle to insure, plate, register, and maintain someone elses junk that will set you back about 2 grand.

Have you looked into an LT1 with 6spd from an early 90 camaro. Meet a guy at a car show who swapped one in his 69 c10. Said with 3.03 gears it would almost stall out in 6th gear running 70. Camaros are a lot lighter and not so much of a brick on wheels but owners are claiming 25-34 mpg on open highway driving only.

That is a good idea. I don't have a line on an lt1, but I do have a buddy with a 6 speed he isn't using. I'll have to see what I can get it for.

I love first gens!!! I used to own one. Makes me sad that I sold it to get a common rail and just to turn around to sell it to get married.
