Question 85chevy k10 305 upper end question

So i am doing a light rebuild of the top end at 90,000 org. miles.Do to some random pinging emanating from the engine at different times of day/night. I was given a Holley 650 carb to use and I found a weiand stealth intake, I want to replace lifters, push rods, valve seats, and thermostat. My question is this... what problems will i run into should all of the vacuum lines match up? stuff like that, i dont want the truck to be out of commission for more then a weekend, do to the fact that i use it for school and work. We have a shop that said he can do it for about $200 if i get all of the parts so ill probably do that, I would just like to be more informed of what will happen. thank you

Note: 1985 Chevy K10 Stock 305 and Q-jet carb
