A little more information please.
Do you want to covert a 2 wheel drive to a 4x4 or just raise the front of the truck?
Is your truck a 3/4 ton?
Was the truck an original big block?
Does your truck have rear leaf springs?
A big block truck with a heavy front bumper may sit a little low and you may be able to do something with heaver springs.
My understanding is that they require stronger springs.
To install a front axle from a 4x4 would require you to go to front leaf spings which would require spring perch's to be welded to the frame.

check out fabtech they make lift kits for 2wd trucks which would be the easiest way to go a 4x4 axle put on a 2wd frame is a pain in the nuts avoid the hassle and just lift it with a good kit
