Square body with a 3/4 drop needs to get leveled.

Recently got a 85 square body, looks like the previous owner did a mild drop on on it, im guessing a 3/4. I see the drop spindles and hanger/shackles out back. Has a bit of a rack to it, would like to drop it down an inch out back for now. any suggestions? Take out the helper leaf, maybe?

Welcome to the site. First measure from the ground up to center wheel well. What size are the tires? Stock height with stock tires is 32" front and 34" rear on a 4X2. Once you know the measurement, you know what you need to level drop. A 2"/4" front/rear drop should level it. If you don't tow or carry heavy stuff, removing the help spring is a first step. Is the front leaf spring hanger reversed? Reversing it will have another 1+ drop.

Hey gchemist thanks for the reply, It has a 3/4 drop for sure, i confired it last night with the previous owner. The hangers are not reversed, they are aftermarket 2" drop hangers. You are saying if reverse them ill get another 1" drop w/o removing helper spring?

BTW, I think reversing it would give 2" inches. You can reverse it, then raise the shackle one setting.

Yeah i know what hangers are... basically what my question is , how can i get a 5" drop from a truck that has been dropped 4" using aftermarket hangers & shackles in the rear....I would love to just do a flip kit, but being that i have drop hangers and shackles only it would be way to much of a drop.

See if it still has the large overload leaf in the bottom of the pack. If you remove it, that will give you 3/4-1" of drop.
