1970 C-10 windshield weather stripping?

If I have the metal trim around my windshield (I think it's the deluxe trim), do I need to run that trim with new weatherstrip? I would prefer to have it the standard black trim all the way around, but I do t know if it will fit properly... Any help would be greatly Appreciated.

I don't think it'll fit. There's a deluxe gasket for windows with chrome trim, and a standard gasket for windows without. Better check Brothers.com just to be sure though

I think you just get the non deluxe windshield seal that doesn't have the grove. It should be cheaper to have someone install too so you get the lifetime leak free guarantee.

The glass and the body are the same throughout 67-72, so you can switch to any style with no issues.

Right, but depending on what trim he wants to run, he will need the right gasket.

That's correct if you want to re-use the trim, however the op wants to convert to black which should be no problem. Just buy the standard black gasket and you'll be fine.

He might want to save the trim. It's pretty hard to find in decent condition and the last I knew the aftermarket stuff was problematic. But the gaskets are interchangable through the years.
