Water outlet tourque specs?
I need to replace my water outlet / thermostat housing, does anyone have tourque specs so I don't over tighten the two bolts. Also whats the best gasket?

Re: Water outlet tourque specs?
I dont know about the torque spec except for steel bolt beats aluminum intake everytime. I had to helicoil my brand new air gap rpm. I just changed my o-ring water neck today with a stock one, 0.99 cents gasket and rtv. I did 25 ftlbs, better to have a leak and redo vs. than damage the intake.

Re: Water outlet tourque specs?
I looked it up for you right quick and that site said 25 ftlbs min 35 max. Thats cra cra. They have not bought aftermarket intakes and don't care about others stuff I guess or that may be cast iron on cast who knows but I think that is way too much. Snug it down and be good

Re: Water outlet tourque specs?
If you'll buy a nice quality gasket, you'll never fight a leak and won't find yourself having to use sealer or torque so damn tight. Forget about those crappy cheap paper thermostat gaskets.
Drop it on dry, snug the bolts, and forget about it. Posted via Mobile Device |
