Has anybody put or have pics of 99-02 fullsize chevy 60/40 split bench (the ones with the seat belt built in) in an AD? Any info or pics would be great

Thanks,
Chris

Re: seating?

I don't know about the 92-02 but I tried a 93 seat in my 53.
I measured the frame & track and I thought it would work, but the upholstery wouldn't fit. On the original AD seats, the upholstery just goes straight up from the framework, but on the newer seats the padding hangs way over the sides. I put it in the truck to check, and the doors pushed against the padding and made the doors kinda tough to close.
You might measure the padding width before you decide.

Re: seating?

Hey Chris, If I remember most seats from the full size trucks don't fit at all. But I could be mistaken on the full size truck seats. But I can tell you the 40/60 bench out of S10 fit really well, but they don't have the seat belts built in.

Re: seating?

I've got that particlular 60/40 seat in my 71 and it is a perfect fit that lets drivers of different heights swap place and go comfortably but it sure looks too big for any of my AD trucks.
Width is extremely important but even more important is the front to back measurements and how much room the lean back takes out of your leg room. The seat not only has to fit in the cab but you have to fit behind the wheel when seated in it and your legs have to be comfortable.

I've had a front seat out of a mid 70's Dodge ST Regis in the 48 for years as my friend sold it to me for 20.00 bucks out of his wrecking yard and it actually fits and looks pretty good. It is also absolutely the most uncomfortable seat I have ever driven any distance on in my life. Ride on that seat for a couple hundred miles and you can really sympathize with the stage coach drivers of the old west.
