Re: Hood rattle

There's supposed to be inserts between the braces and skin. On most trucks they're long gone by now. Most sound deadeners have a silver backing and their logo.

Re: Hood rattle

My pads are still there.. Hood just sounds loud when I hit a bump.. Would rhino liner work?

Re: Hood rattle

Is it hitting the grille or fenders? Are your hinges wore out? There are supposed to be bumpers on the front and rubber pads on the sides of the fenders... they kinda look like rubber triangles?

Re: Hood rattle

I think rhino liner might make the hood too heavy. If the rubber pads & side bumpers are OK, maybe the long pads under the hood braces are worn out (too hard, maybe shrunk with age?). Or the latch might be out of adjustment.

Re: Hood rattle

There is also a cowl to hood seal I forgot about that goes the length of the front of the cowl under the back of the hood.
