Door weatherstripping help

Having some isses with the inner window weatherstripping that goes from the top of the door, towards the back, and down the channel. They are both hanging up when rolling the window about halfway up. Is there some kind of trick to this, do I need to glue these in place to make sure the rubber isnt moving? thanks, Adam

I think you're talking about the window run. I've had the same problem. If they're worn, it can be especially bad.

The window felt isn't designed to be glued in; it's a press fit. I've found that if my regulator rollers and tracks are clean and lubricated, that I have far less problem with the windows hanging up on the felt. The regulator tends to push the glass toward the back of the opening when you're rolling it up, and having the tracks clean and lubricated helps the glass to be able to slide on the track.

A good dose of wd-40 on the felts generally works very well

I use silicone spray on the window channel runs.Usually about every 6 mo.to a year and they're good to go.And you justt reminded me to do it.I thought about it today at the car wash(cars and coffeecruise in the am) and had forgotten until I saw this post.

Ok well the doors are brand new repros(from gmcpauls) which really arent that well fitting, and the felt is brand new as well. It does seem the window is getting pushed against the rear and pushing the rubber since the rubber doesnt stick in there really tight. I might tryin bending the track slighty to see if the rubber will press tighter.

I bought new from LMC. They fit great and are plenty long enough to cut off. They are a bit of a ***** to get out (your old ones) If they are just falling out when you roll your window down its def time to replace them.

Sorry I didnt explain myself very well. The door and weatherstripping is all brand new. But I think I have a few ideas to try. Tried greasing everything, didnt help. Idk why these are being such a pain when everyone else says its easy. And ive put a few regulators in before.

I had the same problem with mine (also from gmc pauls) made by percision. I used a small dab of 3m weatherstrip adhesive up in the channel, and it took care of the problem. Yes it is like $15 per tube, but it is good stuff and I have found many uses for it!
