Re: started 2001 5.3 vortec swap into 67 c10

ok so im using the pinout diagram from http://www.lt1swap.com/99-02_vortec_pcm.htm... and its for a "non emissions friendly stand alone harness.. my question is.. what about the upper, before cat, o2 sensors?? in this pinout all 4 are removed. on my headers there are bung holes for the sensors.. do i plug the holes and tune out all 4 sensors or keep the top 2? does the computer function better with or without? does it even matter?

Keep the before cat oxygen sensors. As long as you are fuel injected you need these. The ones after the cat can go away. They are only for monitoring the efficiency of the cats.
It's pretty satisfying when it starts up after you finish your own harness, but you really have to put some time in!

Re: started 2001 5.3 vortec swap into 67 c10

thanks for the info on the o2 sensors. kept them in the harness along with maf.. yeah i was scared to death to start pulling pins until i pulled the first one and saw that all the wire colors were right where the numbers said they were.. it took me the better part of a day to weed the wires out.. when it came to the wires that led to the fuse box plug.. i wasnt sure.. but after digging deeper on http://www.lt1swap.com/99-02_vortec_pcm.htm it was all laid out right there
