Spark plug wire retainers

Is this the factory spark plug retainer? If so can I buy this one from any vendors or is it only a part i have to find used?I have seen the other styles for sale which are the one that holds the 2 wires under that heat shields and the ones that bolt to back of block that holds the 4 wires for each side. Any info would be appreciated. Pics would help a lot of exactly where this retainer attaches on the engine. Thanks

Re: Spark plug wire retainers

Here's the one on my '72 with automatic. The one on my '71 k10 with 4 speed is like the one in your pic only it points forward rather then back to the firewall like yours. Camaro vendors sell both styles.

Re: Spark plug wire retainers

Thanks I have that same bracket. I just took that pic off from the forum not my bracket. Just missing the black wire clip on top. What does the one on the other side of the engine look like. Do you have any other pics. I am working on my truck now and trying to figure the correct routing. Thanks

Re: Spark plug wire retainers

Do you have a pic of the retainer that bolts on oil pan and heat shields? Do the wires go behind motor mount or in front? Thanks again

I didn't see any on the oil pan, maybe I'm missing that one. First pic is drivers side, second is pass.

Re: Spark plug wire retainers

I really like the OE wire retainers, though they only work well with 7mm wires.

8mm wires are too fat for them, unless there is someone that makes them specifically for 8mm.

Ya, I don't know if anyone makes them for 8mm either

Re: Spark plug wire retainers

Here's a picture that shows the clip on the oil pan (one on each side). I don't have the heat shields mounted since this is a GMPP crate engine and does not have tapped holes for the shield bolts.
