did our year of trucks come with a 10" clutch

I'm sure my engine is stock and has a 10" clutch, but I was just told different. A guy at another parts store I just called, told me that the inline 6 in a full size half ton used 11" clutches, not 10. Can anyone comfirm that a 10" clutch is in fact stock in these trucks

I had the 327-3 on the tree in my truck and it came factory with a 11in clutch with a 12in flywheel. I wouldn't think that it would be different if the engine was a I6.

Stock clutch is 10" 11" was a Heavy duty option on small V8, and standard with most 4 speeds. If the flywheel is big enough, and drilled for the 11" put it in. You will never regret it!!

my stocker was a 10 also, replaced it with a new 10" and it lasted about a month and fell apart, replaced it with an 11", no more troubles after that.

Not sure what mine came with originally, but I would guess that it was an 11". When I recently replaced my clutch, my parts guy pulled an 11" and had it sitting on the counter when I went to pick up the new parts. However, when someone did the big block swap in my truck, they put a 12" setup in it. I'm happy with the 12".

I know the standard clutch for a 250 is 10". My 70 C-10 with a 250 came with the heavy duty clutch option which is 11" for a 250. I was under the impression that V-8's came standard with an 11" clutch and a heavy duty clutch was a 12". As noted above if you have an 11" clutch you can upgrade to a 12" using the same flywheel. Hollanders only shows one flywheel for V-8 applications which is the 11"/12" clutch. The V-8 flywheel (used on most Chevy truck and cars to about 1985) is the same one used on the 250 with heavy duty (11") clutch.

My old 71 with a 307/4-speed was 11", my 72 Blazer/4-speed is a 11", and my 70 GMC was a 11" all were factory. In 1993 I bought a lifetime warranty clutch from a national parts chain and have used the same receipt for all my trucks. They have all been the same 11 inch clutch.

FINALLY found a 10" clutch kit. I swear to god that it must be a bastard clutch size up here.

I have a clutch kit on it way over night to me, so I can install it tomorrow morning. I am using a replacement 10" to put on my 350, since it's just a summer cruising truck, i don't need anything heavy duty.
Oh and it's cost me $50 less than the 11" that I was sold
