Whats wrong with me?
i think this is a pretty common illness that most of us have, im not even done the 67 yet and i allready am trying to decide what my next project is going to be...i dont even have huge cash flow either but i like to dream. ive pretty much got it narrowed down to what i want next. either a 67-72 4x4 shortbox or a toyota landcruiser fj-40 with a small block set up. ive had a landcruiser in the past and i know they are an import but damn are they a lot of fun. another thing is i know where there is a 67 shortbox fleetside gmc in a neighbouring town, the guy was asking 4 grand for it a few years ago and i bet he would take less, he is an old guy that used it for hunting in the past, doesnt really know the value of it i believe
 its a plain janer but sure make a good start for a daily driver truck, id like it so i can park the 67 2wd for the winter then drive this on when the snow starts coming down. now if i could just win the lottery id be set..anyone else have this problem? wanting too many projects all at once?

NOT! It's not uncommon, but as long as you don't totally blow all your money on your projects you should be OK.

I decided that I want a 4x4 Jimmy next and my 2wd 72 isnt any where nearing completion and I have a 70 LWB to finish before that happens. I guess what encouraged my thoughts on the 4x4 is the fact that I picked up an minty front half body of a Jimmy when I was getting parts for my 2wd Jimmy

most of us have the same thing ,my 70 needs exhaust before I can even drive it , and a lot more to be finished, 71 4x4 needs more work than I can do in 2 years thats if I had money, 49? studebaker been sitting for 20+ years got it last year. And a few weeks back my bother-in-law up and gave me a 66 step side.I need to win the lottery too.till then dream,dream,dream.

You're not alone. I have been collecting parts for my 4x4 for 8 months, and WAS going to have the body work done over winter but.......I am very itchy to find a 70- SS Chevelle to restore. I had one from 73-79, and always wanted another. now that they are sooooo high priced, I decided to get one, and hang on to it till I can restore it. Bottom line is, if I find one to buy, there goes the money for the truck for a while. But, hey, I'll have 2 projects then, right??!!

my 70 needs a windshield and brakes before it can be inspected. who knows what else? and i have high hopes for it. ie disc brakes up front airbagged 18" wheels. good sound system. clean interior. hopped up the 350. billet/chrome/powdercoat/dark blue paint everywhere. oh wait. im dreaming again.

Right now, I have 2 Dodge Cummins diesel trucks, my 77 2wd Blazer, 54 Chevy car, 90 LX 5.0L coupe Mustang, and my 70 project truck that I'm doing a big block swap on.........
so what am I doing now? Collecting parts to build a Harley Davidson.....I've never even ridden a motorcycle yet, either. I'm a sick bastard, that's for sure.

no matter how hard it is...finish one project before starting another (even though we all know this idea will never happen), the lessons you learn on the first one will help you on the other projects.

Very common Illness Chevy Fever, buy another finish the first then start the second!!! Before beginning the 2nd though after finishing the first buy a third to put more pressure on you to get the 2nd finished faster so you can start the third and just continue life this way. But watch out the word addiction is correct just check my sig!!!

My problem is I'm really want to do a full ground up build. The absolute only way to afford that is to sell my truck , buy a little cheap s10 blazer, and use the money left over to start the project. I just don't know if I can live without my truck though.

lol jaydub, hey hooter you missed the boat, my old man sold his 84 chevy van, short wheel base, 8 inch ralleys, 350, duel exhaust, new paint, bed inthe back, had a deck, 10 disc changer and a small amp and 6x9's, 2500 hun..lol i shouldve bought it..aha oh well

Shoot, I'm barely getting started on the '67 and I already want a '68 or '69 Chevelle SS and a '56 3100 pick up to redo. Not to mention the '69 Blazer for my 16 year old AND the '70 vette we both want to rebuild. No shop space and no extra money do put a damper on it thugh.

Hell I told my self no new cars for me anymore. I'll build my cars now. we are a 2 car family with one car note. I like the one car note thing. The wife will get the new cars, not me. All I'll need will be my fully restored 68 Hot Rod daily driver. Plus my Civic Hatch back commuter, great gas milage and will last for ever.

My '72 is far from done....it needs anouther 5k or so in it before it is really nice. I've already had thoughts about my next project....either a 73-87 SWB stepside 4x4, a 67-72 drag truck of sometkind, tubbed with about 550 HP, a '54 Chevy 4-door sedan 4-sale up here, a 3-rd gen F-body drag car, or even a 67-72 Ford 4x4........of course i won't be buying any of those for a long time Not until my '72 is done at least, and that will proably happen within 5 or 6 years...since i am broke right now and have to drive it instead of fix it up Oh and BTW, my '72 is my first and only true love...i'm sure i will buy and sell other projects, but it looks like my '72 will stay with me forever!

Me too, I have to finish my 68, I have a full set of bags for my 95 Tahoe I have'nt even put on yet and the wifes Maxima needs struts, my CBR 900 rr needs paint and polish. Then I went out and bought this. LOL

I had to give up my 900rr before I left for Iraq. The wife gave up her F4 also. I want a bike again so bad, but I know the minute I get one there will be no more working on the truck. Saddness!!
