I don't know if I can explain this well but here goes. I got a 71 K5. The output yoke on the t-case is leaking. The one that drives the rear wheels. It's also loose. You can wiggle the yoke back and forth. It has a 1/2" gap between the dust cover(behind yoke) and the aluminum cover bolted to T-case. The large nut holding the yoke on is tight. I know the seal is bad. And the 1/2" gap is where mud and stuff got in to make it go bad. Anybody have any suggestions? Know what would cause a gap but the yoke nut to still be tight? Is it possible someone put the wrong bearing or seal in it? I wished I had a pic. I know it would help. How hard is a 205 to work on? Thanks in advance for any help/replys.

Sounds to me like you lost a rear bearing. Is it noisy?

Look for the post about "Shop manuals for a 205 465" as it has listings on how to rebuild a 205

Also there is a guy on ebay that does rebuilds and he has good feedback on 211 sales, mostly rebuilt transfer cases

I don't think you can beat his price. Your core probably isn't worth shipping back to him, but you can email him and find out.

i replaced the front out put seal on my np205. i don't know the answer to your problem but replacing the seal was pretty easy. good luck
