Driveshaft Install

I just completed a 4" front and 6" drop on a 1977 shortbed stepside. The driveshaft is a 2 piece unit. The flip has set the rear axle significantly higher than in its original stock location. The instructions from Early Classic do not address driveshaft angle. Can the driveshaft be reinstalled as is or I have to add wedges to change this angle. No motor and trans in yet so just trying to see what some of you have done in this case? This obviously my first go around with one of these deals. thanks, Jim M

Re: Driveshaft Install

Sounds like the pinion nose is going to need to be rotated down but I don't think you will be able to really nail it until after the engine/trans is back in place.

In the meantime, you might read through this:
