Hi im selling my classic 1966 chevy c20 custom pick up its Right hand drive with jag xjs front end and chevy 305 v8. It handles,goes, and drives great! very lively! it has bench front seat and custom dash board very minimal hot rod style. The paint work has rust come through in certain places but over all very solid and looks awsome a real head turner!! a very good looking truck being short wheel base with flare side. Generally the more conventional something looks the more potential buyers it will draw. The right person might think it’s just perfect, but many will be deterred by the flame paint and the custom dash treatment. And any rust popping out from under fresh paint is always scary. It should have been eliminated before the paint went on. Now an extensive check is needed to confirm how much more there might be.

It’s hard to offer an opinion on the selling price because so much is dependent on what the current prices are in the local region. We have the same issue in America. The same truck can bring wildly different prices depending on whether it’s being offered in California or Nebraska for example.

Ditto as to what Mark has said, the rust thru spot is really weird, I`ve never seen a 64 to 66 rust there.....rather suspicious...

rust is also above that spot,good chance the drip rails were rotted ,letting water into that pillar and the inner cavaty of the roof.

I would not be interested..... steering is on the wrong side for starters.

I think that may be a conversion to RHD.

Also, the registration looks like a "P" reg which is about 76-77 yearmodel, so maybe a Frankenstein truck.

No way. I like the short bed stepper. Other than that NO WAY. Someone in the states could find you a better truck for less and have it shipped over. You would still be ahead and get a much better truck. IMHO.

Cuz shipping vehicles internationally and having them registered in a nanny-state like they have is really that easy....he'd pay twice the price of a truck to have one sent, let alone all off the MOT stuff they deal with.

No Way I would buy that truck. It was just to show you guys what $10k buys here.

I want something like John Lee Jr, but with a Short Fleetside body and good Chrome.

That is the plan.

I have contacts in CA. NM. OK. NC and up in BC so hopefully between them all, you guys on here possibly finding a hidden gem and letting me know by PM, keeping in mind it still needs to get to the coast, like Dallas TX to get to Chatham docks in England...... Pretty well sums it up, we think about £3k to park it in the garage after buying a truck.
I would say its around 40% on top of purchase price.
But overall, if you are prepared to read the rules and follow them to get it registered and pay customs duties etc, it is still cheaper than buying a local truck in many cases.

Just got to find the right truck with correct spec for the right price.

And we are prepared to do just that. Its part of the adventure.

It's been a few years, but I shipped a 40 foot container from Calgary AB to London UK. The front 2/3 were household effects and the last 1/3 was motorcycles. It cost around 2500. I coulda fit a couple of trucks in one.
The problems with shipping from a landlocked area, which for us meant train from Calgary to Montreal, was that some things got damaged to to the jerking motion of the train. Chair bottoms got the fabric rubbed through, the handgrips on a bike was worn off, that sorta thing. 2 trucks, with a cover on each, would likely ship pretty well.

The weirdest part, when I got over there, was trying to get a drivers license. a friend of a friend police officer gave me the best advice "don't worry about putting on UK plates. You will never get stopped with nonUK plates". I drove the bikes there for 4 years with Alberta plates and drivers license, but with Brit insurance. Got a lot of funny looks but never got pulled over.

Thanks for the complement on Ol John Lee. He was pretty neat I think. Grandbabies did too. They saw me drivin John Lee Jr round the neighborhood yesterday. I stopped. Middle one said, so this is John Lee Jr? I like Ol John Lee better, he had neat faded paint and a bubbly-rumblie sound.

That from a 12 year old. Think she's gonna be a gear head?

Grizz I think I heard a plan in there from Killick. Buy two trucks stuff them into one container. Sell one and keep one. Maybe it can offset the cost. I know American muscle cars are big over there too. I could bring 50 cars back from the UK that we can't get here. Always want what you can't have.

I hope I can get my 66 stepper to half the truck Ol John Lee is. Love your truck. I have lots of rust to kill 1st.
